Law firm opens at new premises

 Corcoran French Lawyers have now moved into new premises in Kaiapoi at The Crossing, corner of Williams and Hilton Streets, following the September earthquake.

Since that time, the legal team’s priority has been to continue to meet the needs of their North Canterbury clientele. The earthquake damaged the firm’s former offices. Temporary offices were then set up in Sewell Street, while the new premises were prepared for business. Corcoran French is pleased to acknowledge the wonderful support it has continued to receive from clients, colleagues, family and friends throughout this challenging time.

Established in 1892, Corcoran French is one of North Canterbury’s oldest law firms and remains fully committed to serving the region.

 Sarah Holder BA, LLB, joined Corcoran French in 2001, and became an Associate in 2008. Sarah specialises in family law including cases of relationship property, care of children, adoption, domestic violence, relocation, paternity and the protection of personal and property rights.

Previously involved with a number of charitable organisations, Sarah is a member of the Family Law Section and the Family Courts Association, as well as a Family Law committee member for the Canterbury-Westland branch of the Law Society.

 Amy Lake LLB practices in the areas of family, criminal law and civil litigation. She joined Corcoran French’s Litigation Team in 2007.

 Christine Kay-Eastgate BA, LLB joined the Corcoran French team as an Associate in March 2007.  Her areas of practice include conveyancing, commercial law, trusts and estate planning.

Along with being a legal associate, Christine is also a member of the Property Law Section. She has been practicing law in North Canterbury since 1993 and has been involved in a number of community groups, including previously coordinating the Rangiora CAB and volunteering in Kaiapoi.

 Philip Redmond MA (Hons), LLB, Dip Tchg. Philip is the firm’s resident partner in Kaiapoi. His practice areas include power of attorney; notary public; wills, trusts and estates; property and business.

Philip has served as a Kaiapoi Borough Councillor, is Chairman of the M V Tuhoe Kaiapoi Rivertown Trust and as an honorary solicitor to organisations including car clubs, dog clubs and community groups.
