Makeover – May
Before
This month’s essence makeover recipient combines part-time employment with voluntary work for St Johns, being a play centre superviser and taking care of elderly residents in her area. Suzie Cuneen is always so busy taking care of others that she doesn’t usually have much time left for herself. We were pleased to be able to offer Suzie this special day of pampering.
Hair Handlers in Rangiora, which is celebrating its first birthday under new ownership, created a sensational new haircut and colour for Suzie, using Wella 3D Colour.
At the salon, stylist Megan applied four different shades of Wella Koleston Perfect professional hair color. These were worked and blended together into the hair to create depth and fullness, giving a multi-tonal result.
Megan selected warmer shades to complement Suzie’s skin tone, while also adding touches of Ash Blonde.
Suzie’s hair was blow waved by Megan using Professional Sebastian Volupt shampoo and conditioner with Volupt body building spray. The style was finished with Sebastian Zero Gravity hair spray.
In applying makeup for Suzie’s makeover, Liz at Unichem Fenwicks Pharmacy in Kaiapoi worked with Suzie’s normal to dry skin and her new hair colours, using Revlon products. Her goal was to create a natural look with a dressy edge, accentuating her eyes.
Revlon Age Defying medium beige was the foundation, and Liz also used Age Defying Spa Concealer in light/medium.
To bring out Suzie’s eyes, Liz applied eyeliner in brushed pewter and used the eyeshadow quad ‘Nude Elements’.
Blusher was a mineral blusher in Petal (020), while the lipliner was ‘Raisin’ and lipstick was ‘Soft Suede’ (356).
Suzie was dressed in complementary seasonal fashion at Jak’s with the help of personal image stylist Debbie Albrecht, of Colours Plus.
Rangiora Eye Care generously donated Suzie’s gorgeous new pair of glasses for this makeover. The glasses are fitted with light sensitive tinting progressive lenses, with high end anti-reflection multi-coats for high resolution. “We were only too happy to assist Suzie. She has obviously contributed a lot to her community, so it is nice to be able to give something back to her,” says David Ambrosius, one of the partners at Rangiora Eye Care.
Wow, Suzie – you look amazing! We hope it’s given you a new spring in your step to help you keep up with all your various community commitments.
