Makeover – July

Dear essence

 I wish to nominate my friend Robyn Norris for an essence makeover. She’s one of those people who just gives and gives and gives. She’s always looking after others but doesn’t have much time and money for herself.

 Robyn is a very busy single mother of four boys, one of whom has autism. She’s always volunteering at school. If they need parent help, it’s her hand that goes up. Life can be pretty full on for her. Robyn’s day starts at the crack of dawn and she’s always in and out of Rangiora ferrying her boys to where they need to be.

 I think Robyn has really earned some pampering and a little time out for herself.

This month’s essence makeover recipient is a busy mother of four, Robyn Norris. We were pleased to be able to offer Robyn some well-deserved pampering from Flawless, with makeover fashion and accessories from SOLEX in Rangiora.

 Robyn’s makeover started with an eyebrow tint and shape with Monique at Flawless Hair & Beauty in Rangiora.

For her makeup, Youngbloods Liquid Mineral Foundation was applied to provide a pore-free finish designed to wear well for hours. This foundation is also very hydrating. To defend against ‘shine’ and create a flawless matte finish, the foundation was set with Mineral Rice Setting Powder.

Flawless chose pressed mineral eyeshadow quad “Shanghai Nights” for Robyn’s eyes. This durable talc-free formula sweeps on like silk.

Flawless’ luxurious moisturising lipsticks provide long-lasting glorious natural colour. The unique formulation is lanolin-free, offering a superior blend of natural oils, minerals and candelila wax.

Robyn enjoyed being spoilt by the Flawless team, who provided hot chocolate, carrot cake and a hand massage while her hair colour was applied and processed.

Given that Robyn had never had her hair coloured before, a subtle approach was used. A few highlights were placed throughout to give the effect of a lighter colour, while a warm natural base was used to cover greys and complement her skin.

Robyn likes her existing length, but was happy to have a new style with shape, body and life.

Amanda at Flawless finished Robyn’s hair with a blow dry, using Moroccan Oil to give nourishment and shine, along with cream-mousse Redken Aerate to plump up the volume.

Contemporary fashion and accessories from SOLEX completed Robyn’s gorgeous new look.

 I love my hair and my makeup.  My hair cut gives my face a nice rounder look. I never realised my eyebrows waxed would make such a difference. The colour of my hair looks great and I love the highlights.

 I feel fantastic and look 10 years younger.
