Christmas in Rangiora
December is an exciting time in North Canterbury, with plenty of festive events on the calendar.
The annual Rangiora Toyota Santa Parade will take place on December 12 in High Street, starting at 2pm. This promises to be another delightful showcase of the town’s businesses and community groups. From farm animals to fire engines, there will be plenty to keep the kids entertained. As usual, Santa will be part of this special event.
Following the parade, grab your picnic blanket and head along to Victoria Park for Party in the Park. Enjoy live music, stalls and family entertainment at this outdoor event.
Rangiora’s retailers understand how hard it can be to fit in last minute shopping on top of everything else. To cater to customers’ needs, shopping hours have been extended in the town for December. Extended shopping dates: Sundays (Dec 5, 12 & 19): 10am to 4pm; Tuesdays (Dec 14 & 21): 9am to 10pm; Mon Dec 20, Wed Dec 22 & Thurs Dec 23: 9am to 8pm; Fri Dec 24: 9am to 6pm.
The highlight of this busy period will be Rangiora’s Christmas Celebration Night on Tuesday, 21 December from 5pm. Spend the evening in High Street browsing market stalls, shopping and taking in the live entertainment. Stop for a meal or a glass of wine at one of the town’s cafes, bars or restaurants and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
